Wider Curriculum

Our wider curriculum is a vital part of delivering a rich, broad and ambitious education for every child. Alongside English and Maths, subjects such as History, Geography, Art, Design and Technology and French play a key role in helping pupils understand the world and their place within it.

Our curriculum is rooted in our mission to Belong, Believe, Explore and Achieve. Through carefully planned and sequenced learning, we ensure that children develop both knowledge and skills across a wide range of subjects, while building confidence, curiosity and independence.

We follow the CUSP approach, which ensures that learning is clearly structured and builds over time. Key knowledge and vocabulary are revisited, enabling pupils to deepen their understanding and make meaningful connections across subjects.

The wider curriculum gives children the opportunity to:

  • explore new ideas, cultures and perspectives
  • develop creativity and express themselves in a range of ways
  • understand the world, past and present
  • build confidence through practical and purposeful learning

We also believe strongly in learning beyond the classroom. Our wider curriculum is enriched through a range of visits, visitors, projects and experiences that bring learning to life and help children apply their knowledge in meaningful contexts.

Through our wider curriculum, we aim to develop well-rounded learners who are curious about the world, respectful of others and prepared for the next stage of their education and beyond.
